We are thrilled to share some exciting news! We wanted to let you know about an important change that will affect our practice. Our current building is scheduled to be demolished as part of a local redevelopment project, which means we’ll be moving to a new location. The good news is the new premises is only a 1-minute walk from our current location!
Even better news this means; advanced eyecare, fresh new premises, and an even higher standard of service—all designed with you in mind.

Our New Home
Our new premises will allow us to continue providing the same high standard of eye care you know and trust, in a refreshed and comfortable setting.
We’re working hard to ensure our new premises will offer the same convenient access and warm environment you’re used to.
The move is very close by and all appointments and services will continue as normal before, throughout and after the move
What This Means for You
First and foremost, we want to reassure you that your eye care will continue without interruption. All of your records, prescription history, and ongoing treatments will be safely transferred to our new premises. We’re committed to maintaining the same high standard of care you’ve come to expect from us.

Our Journey
Visioncare Opticians was established in 1981 and was located on Paddington Street.
It moved to it’s current location on Baker Street in 1990. Prior to that, 70 Baker Street used to be video store! Who remembers the likes of Blockbuster?!!
The current location carries the memories of ‘our first home’ and only feels like yesterday when we moved in!
As many of you know, our current retail site is scheduled for demolition as part of a redevelopment project. When we were initially served notice there was a roller coaster of emotions.
Once we had time to process the news, we decided rather than seeing this as an ending, we used it as opportunity to grow, improve, and serve our patients in a fresh environment. A new chapter for our business indeed!
We enlisted the help of an agent and explored multiple units till we found the perfect fit!
Our key search criterion included the following: location, location, location!
From there on it all happened very quickly; lots of emails and contracts exchanged between the lawyers, surveyors, project manager, signage companies, equipment suppliers and many more!
Every delivery had to be arranged in a timely manner to avoid delaying the next step of the new shop fit, simultaneously whilst running the current practice!
It was a lot of fun choosing colours for the flooring, the walls, the desks, deciding which socket goes where! With Opticians, getting the socket placement right in an is crucial when we have all the testing equipment, computers at the desk and glazing/repair machines.
One improvement we’re particularly pleased about is that our new location offers single-floor access. This means no stairs to navigate, making visits easier and more comfortable for everyone—whether you’re bringing young children, have mobility considerations, or have just had your eyes dilated during an examination. We believe this will make a real difference to your experience with us.
We are very grateful we have been able to thoughtfully design the new space from the ground up, carefully planning everything from the layout to the lighting There’s something quite exciting about getting to design the space exactly how you want it from scratch!
It was like renovating your house but a retail unit instead!
